Note that mariadb-client just installs a command-line database client, that is, you invoke it in a terminal (most probably it's called "mysql") and enter SQL commands into it. For a graphical client, I think the usual suspect will be phpmyadmin, which is a Web interface written in PHP. Sorry I couldn't be more specific, but perhaps this helps us find the right direction.
