Hi,

I had my monitor working fine the first time I installed Debian Woody. I
remember configuring it during the install routine.

My monitor is a 17 inch flat panel LCD (Samsung SP 1702) and I had selected:
- VESA
- 1024x768 @ 60Hz
- 16bit color
which Gnome had no problem with.

However, I had failed to configure my Ethernet correctly. So I did the install
again and got Ethernet right that time.. but forgot to configure the
monitor :-(.

I suspect doing a clean install of the system is *not* the most efficient way
to configure either monitor or Ethernet. Or in Debian, is it?

How should I go about setting up my monitor now?

I have tried /usr/sbin/base-install but that does not seem to offer the extra
configuration stuff like Ethernet and Monitor/Display.

Thank you,

Roger :-)
