I confirmed the email, but with no any response. Have you checked out Debian-Mentors yet? These very kinds of questions are *exactly* what they do over there. Very friendly, supportive group overall. One person, a mentor, recently explicitly stated they'd rather see people mess up doing things they don't know and then have to ask questions on that list. That's because the alternative would be where people might not participate, might not help established developers at all. For some reason that caused me to wonder if the Debian-Devel list was maybe a somewhat closed list that was only for experienced developers. Wouldn't make sense in an open environment, but still I wondered. I do see a "This list is not moderated; posting is allowed by anyone" kind of air there: https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/ BUT I also do see their description which is "Discussion about technical development topics". If you click on just the latest month's worth of archived conversations, it *is* higher end, "technical" questions there so beginner developer questions would not go over well. :) That makes Debian-Mentors sound like a decent alternative to me. :) https://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/ You could try subscribing to that Debian-Mentors list and see if you still have trouble.
