upgrade steps you took
which WM/DE you use
installed version of Firefox-ESR (45 vs 52)
whether it helps if you use a virgin Firefox profile to run Firefox
whether it helps if you create a new user to run Firefox
URL of Acer laptop specifications
output from 'inxi -c0 -v4' ('apt install inxi' if necessary)
output from 'lspci -nnk | grep -A4 VGA'
output from 'dmesg | grep error' or any suspicious part of dmesg
any suspicious output from the tail of journalctl
content of /etc/X11/xorg.conf if it exists
especially:
URL of pastebinit Xorg.0.log ('apt install pastebinit' if necessary)
