I went for the gold and did the following: sudo apt-get install libsox-fmt-all The following extra packages will be installed: libid3tag0 libsox-fmt-ao libsox-fmt-mp3 libsox-fmt-oss libsox-fmt-pulse The following NEW packages will be installed: libid3tag0 libsox-fmt-all libsox-fmt-ao libsox-fmt-mp3 libsox-fmt-oss libsox-fmt-pulse 0 upgraded, 6 newly installed, 0 to remove and 231 not upgraded. Need to get 260 kB of archives. After this operation, 394 kB of additional disk space will be used. Do you want to continue? [Y/n] I did and it all just worked. Martin
