Hi.. My apologies, but this is another hit-n-run due to something that HAS to be addressed "elsewhere". I can't remember what i was working on, but I ended up wanting to play in my primary Applications menu a couple weeks ago. I THINK I wanted to *attempt* to delete a duplicate entry that a multimedia program installed on there. Can't remember how I stumbled upon the location, but I found what i needed at: /etc/xdg/menus More specifically in my case at that second, I needed: /etc/xdg/menus/xfce-applications.menu It was fun looking at that because it shows just the tiniest, tiniest glimpse into what it takes for Developers to do what they do across the entire of Debian development. I tried VERY CAREFULLY altering that file *AFTER MAKING A BACKUP*. Whatever I was doing didn't work, and I got sidetracked so never uncover why it failed. My a-sumption at this second is that it would possibly be that this file takes its head nods from something higher above it. An example that is more commonly known would be where we can manually alter /boot/grub/grub.cfg all day long, but on the next reboot, it reverts back to its former status. In that case, the more permanent alternative we have is alter something like one of my favorite files, /etc/grub.d/40_custom. I THINK I found /etc/xdg/menus/xfce-applications.menu because I had a mental tickle file already stored about its possible existence. Had I not found it via a "locate" terminal command line search, my next usual step is to "grep" for an unordinary, thus less commonly found, entry off my menu (e.g. PySol Fan Club Edition). Once in a while.... it takes *me* a grep of the whole hard drive to find something like that. *grin* Hope that...
