Hi, I am trying to figure out how to use apt-get changelog correctly. According to the manpage, when it is called without any further arguments, as in
apt-get changelog <packagename> it should display the changelog of the installed version of <packagename>, here however it apparently displays the changelog of the package version that is marked as install-candidate by apt-get update but not installed yet. From the manpage it seems to me that I would have to call apt-get changelog <packagename>=<candidate-version> instead to get the newer version's changelog. In fact this behavior comes in handy for me, because the install-candidate's changelog is what I want, but as far as I can see, it is not what the documentation says. Does anyone know, am I missing something here, or did I misunderstand the manpage or why else does apt-get behave this way?
