I get that when I use 'sudo halt'

When I use 'sudo halt -p'  it powers off.

So I would suggest you look at the underlying command on the button of the
computer which do not power off and change the command.


Look at 'man shutdown'  for the options when you use 'shutdown'  in stead
of 'halt'.
