Then, tell us *exactly* what you are doing, and what the kernel reports ("dmesg | tail -n 30" should do). It is not impossible for a kernel bug to be around, not many people use bare-hardware floppy devices nowadays (the USB-attached ones don't count, they're hardware/firmware-mediated). -- Henrique Holschuh
