dpkg -S inittab | grep sysvinit sysvinit: /usr/share/sysvinit/inittab sysvinit: /usr/share/sysvinit/inittab.s390 sysvinit: /usr/share/man/man5/inittab.5.gz The postinst script for sysvinit (/var/lib/dpkg/info/sysvinit.postinst) copies in the appropriate inittab for the architecture. Because /etc/inittab itself is not in the supplied package, "dpkg -S /etc/inittab" will not reveal it. -- Oliver Elphick [EMAIL PROTECTED] Isle of Wight, UK http://www.lfix.co.uk/oliver GPG: 1024D/3E1D0C1C: CA12 09E0 E8D5 8870 5839 932A 614D 4C34 3E1D 0C1C ======================================== "To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night."
