Are there any browsers in Debian Jessie that are not dependent on Firefox?
It seems everything has been replaced or is just a cover/skin/re-paint of
firefox.
T.I.A.
My two favorite non-firefox browsers are xombrero and qupzilla.
Xombrero used to be called xxxterm. Not sure what it was called in Jessie by
the time Jessie was released. I always have my sources.list set to "testing"
rather than any of the nicknames, so I'm never quite sure what a nicknamed
version of Debian had in its repositories when it was released.
Anyway, xombrero is a different kind of browser designed to be controlled
entirely from the keyboard. Depending on your preferences, it might work for
you. It's very fast.
Qupzilla is new to me. It got installed when I decided to drop Xfce and switch
to lxqt. It is extremely fast, maybe the fastest graphical browser I've seen
-- at least on my systems.
Hope you find something to suit you.
