No I named it as a hoax from the off -- the tell for me was that one of the replies to the hoax post was a suggestion to use dd(1) for recovery, and the OP replied "I've swapped the arguments if= and of=. What do I do now?" That stretched credulity too much for me. On the other hand, 123-reg really did do this!
