(flash player plugin crashes) Being able to open and play SWF files has nothing to do with your web browser. Try install GNU Gnash, a free flash player, by running the following: # apt-get install gnash You should then be able to open SWF files using Gnash. > Bit of a pain really: uploaded a movie to youtube today, in order to look at > it on Youtube I had to refer to a computer with Windows installed since i > cannot watch anything in Iceweasel on Youtube (and many other websites) using > Debian. Which version of Iceweasel are you using? I am using 38.7.1esr-1~deb8u1, and I can watch YouTube videos without Flash. I would recommend uninstalling your Flash plugin, so that it does not interfere with YouTube's HTML5 video player.
