I've been having a lot of trouble with exim-tls, and I'd love some perspective from you folks.
First off, I'm trying to get secure POP, secure IMAP, and secure SMTP set up on a Woody box. I'm trying to avoid any solution that requires updating by hand -- I want to continue to use apt-get update. (I'll eventually be adding Squirrelmail and some virus and spam blocking, but that's V2.)
The easiest path I've found seems to be installing exim-tls. It installs correctly, but I can't seem to connect to it from my mail reader. It's possible I'm using the wrong settings on the client side. The error I get is "Failed to connect via ssl" which isn't very informative from the client. I've looked through the log files using webmin; I haven't found any login failure or ssl failure messages to shed any light. Obviously I'm not looking in the right places; any suggestions?
Thanks very much!
