My assumption was that Gene will set up two new disks in an mdadm RAID 1, install a new system to them, and thus be able to fall back to his old system with only a reboot. Then, after some weeks or months of contentment with his new disks, the old ones will get wiped and turned into backup storage or something similar. -dsr-
