Thanks for the tip. I decided that I rather devote to GE a Linux machine on the BLUE port of my router (which is isolated from the GREEN port), rather than to endure the insult of a W$ machine on the premises. And while I still hope to run GE under Debian, Ubuntu is preferable to W$. RLH
