That would be the first one to do this since i began to operate them on SCSI level in 2006. (I'm developer of libburn.) The drive is new. An LG GH24NSC0. Regrettably it is built-in to the computer. Then the boot firmware and the kernel might be curious enough to issue START/STOP UNIT. But here i suspect to be victim of some fancy new feature of udev or kernel.
