Additionally, you can use `newgrp` to log in to a new group without having to log out and in again. See `man 1 newgrp` for details. You only need it the first time you use your new group, since on your next login you'll be in the group already along with all your other groups. Since I use it so rarely, it's easy to forget (especially since I can't help thinking that the name should mean something else) and I have to use `apropos group` each time to find it.
