Are there really
that many companies - companies without their own IT department -
with self hosted, unmanaged servers running around these days?
Seriously?
Umm... yes - if you strike "unmanaged" -i t's pretty hard to find any
computer that's completely "unmanaged" - somebody always does software
updates, reboots when it crashes, and (hopefully) does the occasional
backup.
If you're any kind of engineering company, it doesn't take an IT
department to care and feed for a half-rack of Dell servers running
Windows Server & Outlook, Linux + Apache + Postfix, or maybe a Mac
running OS X server.
And an awful lot of home-based businesses have a server under a desk,
hooked to a commercial-level broadband connection.
Who trusts their sensitive information to 3rd parties, in the cloud?
Seriously?
