Apparently someone updated the netboot.tar.gz yesterday and new kernel worked out well, and once again I'm able to install Jessie. I think what probably happened was a lot of packages being updated on Mar 9th for the base-system install, the kernel in netboot perhaps wasn't up-to-date?
Thank for responses though, very much appreciated!
