Decided icewm was not putting pysol on the toolbar because it couldn't find it. whereis pysol found /usr/games/pysol and, as I was starting xwindows with kdm, I edited /etc/init.d/kdm and added /usr/games to the path list. This didn't solve the problem so I edited .icewm/toolbar in my home directory and changed the entry to prog "Pysol" /usr/games/pysol pysol. This didn't work so I commented out prog "Open Office" openoffice openoffice. This did remove openoffice from the toolbar so the .icewm/toolbar file is being read when I start kdm. Why then cannot icewm find pysol?
