You mean the /root dot files you listed?  Those /root slash .mozilla,
.pulse, .gnome2 and all of those other files?  No.  Nothing
automated.  But you can carefully remove them.  The only dot files you
really need in /root are .profile and .bashrc.  Possibly a few others
but you could safely remove the others.

When running as you?  Or when running as root?

Since you appear to have run out of disk space I would simply restart
the upgrade.  Basically try these in any order you feel like.  Each of
them are safe to do and will resume that section of things.  I will
list them lowest level first and highest level last.

  dpkg --configure -a

  apt-get install -f

  apt-get upgrade
