If I recall when I previously used fvwm, it only showed the programs I had installed on my system, except KDE programs. Maybe the latter are not part of the Debian menu? Also in the past when I installed packages like Kate or Scribus or such, clicking the "read the Debian menu" and "update the Debian menu" only worked with some of the packages, some were still missing. I installed all with apt-get from the Debian repository? But I probably did something wrong. Anyway, thanks for the tip, I'll remove the /etc/X11/fvwm/menudefs.hook and point everything to ~/.fvwm/menudefs.hook and therefore the programs I use and have entered in that, will remain in the Debian menu. Because they have been wiped off it every time the /etc/X11/fvwm/menudefs.hook was regenerated on an upgrade and I had to put them in manually each time anyway? That may not happen if I just point to ~/.fvwm/menudefs.hook because update and upgrade doesn't wipe them from there.
