As tacky as it is, I have to answer myself. Just one more restart of the SID box was the cure for all. Ah well, it's SID, and its advantages are outweighing such misdemanor by far.
If anyone cares to share his/her thoughts about the area where the glitch occured, I'd be happy anyway.
