Search around for XDMCP tutorials.

Your local machine needs an Xserver (like Xorg).
The machine you want to connect to needs a display manager (gdm, kdm,
xdm... i don't think slim supports XDMCP) and the xclients you want to
run.

You'll have no sound. Look into pulseaudio or jack for that.
