Are you saying that you recommend I use a chroot? For a package I'm building just for myself (for just one machine)? Hmm... I've never set up a chroot for building packages and it seems like this would be a lot of work, and a lot of disk space (my HDs are small by todays standards) for very little benefit (in my situation).
