That's another window manager :) > After installing fluxbox, can I install gnome-related apps such as the > following and will they work? > > iceweasel > network manager > gedit > gdebi > synaptic > file-roller > gparted As far as I can tell, all of them will work. I have tested and used iceweasel, synaptic, file-roller and gparted myself. gdebi and gedit should not cause any issues and network manager should also run, but you might need to add the applet to your ~/.fluxbox/startup file in order to use it correctly for WLAN and such. > Which file manager do you recommend that I install on fluxbox? You can of course also use Nautilus or any other file manager. I tend to go towards console applications which is why I have been using VIFM and recently Ranger more and more. However, I still have Thunar installed for occasional batch-renaming of files which is more convenient in Thunar. It is one of the advantages of window managers that you do not have any ``default'' application for a task -- you choose which one find best-suited. > Does "fluxbox" come with regular security updates? I do not quite know, actually. Check http://www.fluxbox.org/news for details. HTH Linux-Fan -- http://masysma.ohost.de/
