As far as I can tell, all of them will work. I have tested and used
iceweasel, synaptic, file-roller and gparted myself. gdebi and gedit
should not cause any issues and network manager should also run, but you
might need to add the applet to your ~/.fluxbox/startup file in order to
use it correctly for WLAN and such.

Originally coming from XFCE, I tend to use the Thunar file manager. You
can of course also use Nautilus or any other file manager. I tend to go
towards console applications which is why I have been using VIFM and
recently Ranger more and more. However, I still have Thunar installed
for occasional batch-renaming of files which is more convenient in
Thunar. It is one of the advantages of window managers that you do not
have any ``default'' application for a task -- you choose which one find
best-suited.
