You probably have a dependency problem like mine: You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these. The following packages have unmet dependencies: skype:i386 : Depends: libasound2-plugins:i386 but it is not installed E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f. trying to install libasound2-plugins:i386 results in a "black hole" of dependencies amd64 here with i386 architecture added
