I've been using the phonetic abbreviation "nub" for
over 15 years....
I can't be bothered to track back and identify the author of
such precious nonsense. 'nub' is not in esr's lexicon.
Period.
(If I once more call attention to the atrocious lack of
netiquette that five levels of citation implies, I will earn
the title "Quoting Nazi.")
As for longevity, I have been posting email and news since
the early 1990's. I bought my first set of Redhat disques in
1996 -- ver. 3.02 or some such -- and exchanged emails with
Erik Troan himself. Prior to that I was hanging out on
delphi.com. Prior to *that* I was all over Providence's
BBS's such as Eagles Nest, ChowdaNet, and Art of the
Possible. I have NEVER seen 'nub' used in such a ridiculous
manner. It is to guffaw, nay even to chortle!
I know we have an OT list, but how about an
EGO-COMPLETELY-OUT-OF-CONTROL list? Never mind that, how
about
MEETS-DSM-CRITERIA-FOR-SEVERAL-MENTAL-DISORDERS?
