A PITA could mean being discarded by Short S. Manager (middle name
Sight) when a system is designed for a customer...

I'm not a supporter of Free Software from the mid '90 (I was the first
one to  translate the GNU Manifesto  to make clear what  the goal was)
just to see it fail for a possibly terrible design choice.

Interesting opinion, one worth taking seriously into account.

But Random J. Hacker could have very few chances to explain it to
Short S. Manager, especially when the latter is fixing a spreadsheet
with short term income forecasts :)

I prefer to tackle the task of avoiding this scenario :).
