....I'm sorry Nicos...for the reply..I did not see the "to:"
Thanks for your suggestions Nicos, I have mounted, as you explain, the usbfs, and now I can see devices with command "lsusb", and also following the path /proc/bus/usb/. I have only 2 usb devices, one is an hub and the other is a usb mouse. The usb mouse, as I said, does not work, but I was not so precise concerning the "does not work"... Under the path "/dev/input/", I have the following devices: event0 event2 js0 js2 mice mouse1 mouse3 event1 event3 js1 js3 mouse0 mouse2 I think I have set up my mouse correctly for X. Checking the X log files, all seem ok! But the mouse does not move the pointer! I have done a test with an other usb device, an usb key of my friend; the system recognize it, and I have mounted as scsi device...It works! So I think we could say that usb subsystem works.. What do you think? And the problem is my Logitech mx700 USB mouse... bye and thanks Lorenzo Il dom, 2003-10-26 alle 18:26, Nicos Gollan ha scritto: > On Sunday 26 October 2003 16:38, Lorenzo Rossi wrote: > > Hi, > > > > I'm a new Debian user, and I have a strange problem with USB subsystem. > > I have a Logitech mouse mx700, and when I connect it to one of my usb > > ports, a message appear in console: > > > > Oct 26 15:43:53 europa kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:0f.2-1, assigned > > address 5 > > Oct 26 15:43:53 europa kernel: input: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [Logitech USB > > Receiver] on usb2:5.0 > > > > It seem that the usb support in kernel is present and active but all usb > > device, and this too, does not work! > > What does "does not work" mean?
