This has actually been a problem for over a year, but I'd like to deal
with it now since the computer in question is a long way away (500 miles;
I telecommute 3 weeks out of 4). /etc/debian_version says "jessie/sid".
When I access this particular server over XRDP using XFCE (my usual
poison) as the desktop, the Applications Menu is empty, The Trash icon is
not displayed, and when I try to configure the panels, no icons *or*
applications are displayed. In .xsession-errors, I see (duplicate
entries not shown):

When I try to run IceWM instead, it refuses to display any icons (to
include controls on the windows). The errors written to .xsession-errors
are like this:

My remote desktop client is Remmina 0.9.99.1 running under Fedora 20 (but
I don't think it matters).
