Sorry for the duplicate but I wanted to put the word "session" cos
I thought it wasn't clear enough.

I have personally no idea, but I would probably try to chroot on the 3.2 kernel. But it won't change anything: since you a mouse, it means you are already running an X server. So it may not be the kernel which is the source of the problem. Plus, there are lot of versions in linux 2.6.*.

Actually I am sure. Now I'm running the 2.6.35-amd64.
