I don't know how it does work for a full disk encryption on a sdcard, but for "averaged" installs on a hard disk drive, there are entries in /boot/grub/grub.cfg (GRUB 2) or /boot/grub/menu.lst (GRUB legacy). -- [D-community-offtopic] Security?
