Those songs don't show up anywhere in a directory listing when you mount the player using MSC -- at least I haven't been able to find their location.
Solution would be to delete the songs using XP, then if you want re-transfer them in XP using Windows Explorer rather than Windows Media Player. Or, leave the songs as is and try using Rhythmbox or another Linux player that supports MTP.
