Hey all, This might be a common topic, but I haven't found much of use so far.
I've just upgraded from squeeze to wheezy, and lost sound - except for some popping noises from my (cheap) speakers. It's possible that my speakers have coincidentally died; I'll have a look for some alternative hardware I can test with - but it would be a significant coincidence. I think my upgrade may have installed pulseaudio; is that right? I have no feelings for or against, but if it's now the 'standard' debian way, I'd rather stick with it than blow it away. To the best of my knowledge, I haven't made any changes other than the upgrade - and I've tried several desktop environments (gnome3, openbox, gnome classic) and tried playing sound from the commandline (though I didn't do that much before, so I don't know if that failure is new). Any tips on where to start? Cheers, Richard -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
