When installing JRE from Oracle make a symbolic link to the plugin file in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins . In my case the symlink target is /usr/local/jre1.8.0/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so and the symbolic link resides in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libnpjp2.so (example). Disable the other installed version/s via Tools -> Addons -> Plugins and make sure the version you intended to use currently is enabled here also. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
