pdf applciation that ACTUALL deletes pages

Hi,
I have installed pdfshuffler, pdfchain, and pdfmod but cannot find one that 
works to delete pages, and here is the tricky part, save the result error ot at 
least give me a legible error message.
Can someone direct me to an application that will let me delete pages and then 
save
the resulting file fo Debian 7?
