Well, gnome (and related packages) have a huge influx of bugs. I wouldn't expect too much guidance from the Maintainers on yours (basically no informations at all). I would try contacting the submitter of the original report (hint: <bug-nr>-submit...@bugs.debian.org goes to the submitter) and ask at least what version of gnome-shell he is using and try upgrading to it (if applicable).
