Solved:
# dpkg -r k3b
(Reading database ... 120015 files and directories currently
installed.)
Removing k3b ...
#
# dpkg -r xcdroast
(Reading database ... 119935 files and directories currently
installed.)
Removing xcdroast ...
#
# aptitude

It seems to work now. Not sure if the above fixed it or
if it was fixed by the maintainer of the package.
It took a hour a day for a few days for me to figure this out.
At first I tried aptitude with a minus on the k3b line
but aptitude seemed to try to fix broken package first
before deleting k3b package. If aptitude reversed
the order and did deleting first, it would have worked.
Not sure I needed to remove xcdroast either, but it
wasn't working anyway in my system, anyway.
