Are you running out of drive space on any of your partitions?for the past two or so weeks, galeon especially, but also usually mozilla, have been really slow to load pages -- and by "really slow" i mean up to an hour. lynx and w3m, OTOH, load the same pages in normal time. i'm utterly miffed as to what could be causing this -- has anyone seen something like this? for the record, i'm running galeon 1.2.5 and mozilla 1.0.0.
thanks,
</nori>
Have you restarted X lately, and killed any moz processes while X/[?]dm is not running?
Maybe rename your .galeon and/or .mozilla directories temporarily and restart Moz/Galeon to see if that makes a difference?
See if the problem exists in another graphical browser, such as Konqueror or dillo or mozilla-firebird.
Does it happen for another user? Using a different GUI environment (icewm vs KDE vs wmaker, etc)? On a different X session (log in at VT2, then "startx -- :2")?
Is this dial-up, or cable LAN, or what? Do you have another connection you can try (a different ISP, take the box to a friend's house, college library jack, etc)?
