Thans harvey for the info! on my first email, you'll see: 9) try to restore backup but the e-mails didn't have restored This was the 'evolution facility' to backup and restore... that is the thing that makes me even more nuts! As you put it, this is a RC Bug, i don't think that joea-average user can do that migration on his own. I'll go to the evolution-maintainers directly to fix this before wheezy release.
