Try a full PREEMPT kernel and add "threadirqs" to the boot options.
Or try a RT PREEMPT kernel.

Well for the little story.

I was playing guitar very well, with a higher latency, but was still
good, on an AMD Athlon XP 2600+ (2100 MHz) with a creative sound
blaster live pci card. And I never faced such issues with that old
computer. So, I do expect that with an AMD FX 4170, 64 bits, at
4.2 GHz (well 1.4 at its lower speed), things will run at least as
good. If not, then I'll move it to performance and its full speed.

I will first try, hopefully tomorrow, to test the cpu-scaling stuff,
when the problem will arise again. Then after, I'll try all your
suggestions.
