period/buffer: 3

What sound device do you use? The best value is 2, just some sound
devices, usually on-board devices need 3. This is not related to your
issue, but if possible decrease it and increase the samples/period
value, if needed.

I have a Creative Labs X-Fi Titanium on a PCI Express slot. Anyway, as
a side note, I didn't face any problem with the sound until 1 month or
2 months maybe.

So this could be related to the cpu scaling (which I started to play
with 2 months ago or so), but I need deeper tests to ensure this:
make the problem arise again and switch to cpu-scaling set to
performance and see if this changes this directly.

A latency of 4 ms (in + out) is a very low value, it's very likely that
you get xruns. OTOH audible xruns most of the times are shown by
QjackCtl, even inaudible xruns often are shown.

I have some few xruns sometimes (very few) as far as I remember it.

I'll let you know everything.
