If you are planning to upgrade to Wheezy, these are the steps
required for nautilus 3.4.2-1+build1:
1) If the sidebar is not showing, press F9 to show it.
2) Go to View → Sidebar → Tree

The tree view in left panel doesn't do it for me.
I suspect there is a problem in shifting from a device
oriented view of the world to a *nix world view and I'm
stuck in limbo.
Real solution may depend on arrival of an "AHA" moment ;/
