With "-- " it's easier to read a mail, since even people with broken
English can see where the email ends and where the signature starts.
The MUAs won't cut such signatures automatically when replying, since
they cut the last signature, IOW the Debian list signature. However,
even for a native speaker it's easier to manually cut a signature that
is marked with "-- ".
