I just now installed it on my Debian Sid LXDE and started it by issuing: xmonad --replace I couldn't do a thing with it and re-started my xserver, then went and read: man xmonad. I suggest you do so, especially the Usage part called Default keyboard bindings. I'm going now to print that man page and try to learn how to use it. I hope you do, too. Cybe R.
