Half-OT:

I didn't read the thread, but just the last reply.

1. I noticed that for pro-audio sessions I often need to run
"killall -9 -w $apps".

2. I noticed that for pro-audio sessions I sometimes need to "killall
python" instead of an app.

So IMO whatever better solution, than a kill or killall command there
might be, a major issue might be, that apps won't be killed within an
expected time, or they aren't apps that can be killed, because e.g.
python is the app.
