Robin! Debian multimedia! There's no need to subscribe to any strange Debian
multimedia mailing lists. Robin is subscribed to LAU and all the other guy at
least are subscribed to the silent 64 studio lists.

There are Debian audio experts out there, resp. very often it's not important
what distro other people prefer, ALSA, JACK etc. are not distro specific, they
are simply Linux software.

Several people from this list additionally join
http://music.columbia.edu/mailman/listinfo/linux-audio-user. LAU isn't Debian
specific, but you'll meet some names you know from this list and a lot of other
Debian users. I agree that the ALSA list is useless, but LAU is a useful list.

I'm not sure if you already subscribed to LAU, if not, you should do.

Since 64 Studio is gone, Ubuntu Studio mailing lists are also used by some
people who used 64 Studio, that once upon a time was Debian based and btw.
Ubuntu isn't that far away from Debian regarding to ALSA.

Personally I feel frustrated and tend to switch to Arch Linux
http://www.archlinux.org/. It seems to be easier to keep multimedia needs
stable, when using Arch.

I still can't repair my Debian testing and I'm tiered of restoring from backups.

Hi
is there a mailing list which caters for debian related audio problem with alsa
etc ?

I'm caught between alsa-users, which only answer their friends or so it seems
and this list where
apart from Ralf there is little expertise with audio problems.
