Have a look at the headers for one of your messages when it finally gets through. Look for the various "Received:" headers; these will tell you which servers your message went through and when. Be careful that some of them may be in different time zones, so you probably want to convert them all into, say, UTC. Look then for a large gap between hops. That will be your problem.
